これから北新地ごみひろいのレポートをするのですが
なぜ英語をつかっているかというと
今回のごみひろいでは、ステキな出会いがあったからです。
I am about to begin the latest report on our Kitashinchi garbage pickups in English for the first time and share the diary with someone I have met at this event.
では、はじまりはじまり〜
So here it begins!
8月9日（木）18:30
北新地ごみひろいの集合場所、堂島アバンザ前で
カエル、みず、リーダーのなっちゃんが参加者を待っていると
最初に集合場所に現れたのは、おなじみ太田くん。
Thursday 9th of August at 18:30
As Mizu, Natchan the team leader and I await for the participants, Ohta turns up, he is our regular participant and we love him very much.
「さっき、ベトナム人の男の子とトモダチになってさ〜」 と言い出す。
「なんだと？」 と話を掘り下げていくと
「ジュンクドウハドコデスカ？」 と英語で訪ねられたらしい。
なれない英語でなんとか教えたのだが それはそれは、いい感じの青年だったとのこと。
「まじでかー！ごみひろい誘いにいこうぜ！」 ということになり、 どのように誘うか作戦会議
“I’ve just met a boy from Vietnam.” he starts.
“What?” we asked and curiously asked for more about this encounter.
“The boy was asking where Junkudo was” Ohta says. He then described the direction with his limited English ability to this ever so pleasant young gentleman.
“Hey! Let’s get him to join the garbage pickup!!” We got excited and have called for an emergency meeting to discuss how to approach him.
「とりま、ジュンク堂行くべ。」
「oh！マタアッタネ！的な展開でいくべ 。」
など話合いながら、レッツゴージュンク堂。
彼を探す。
“Let’s just go to Junkudo!” lol
“We can surely just say “Oh hello again!””
So we made our way to Junkudo to look for him.
漫画コーナーにはいない。
やっぱ英語系の本らへんにいるのでは。
2階へ。
He was not about at the Manga section.
So we made our way up to the 2nd floor to try the foreign book section.
おった！
オッタ！
There he is!
また太田くんにあえて、うれしそうな彼。
ニコニコ(‘∀`)ニコニコ(‘∀`)
He seemed happy to see Ohta again.

つたない英語でごみひろいに誘う。
「イソガシイ？（英語）」
「モウスグイエニカエルヨ（英語）」
「ボクタチゴミヒロイシテイルヨジョインアス！（英語）」
「30フンダケナラゼヒヤリタイ！チョ、ホンカウシ（英語）」
We then approached him to join the garbage pickups.
“Are you busy?”
“I am about to go home but…”
“Well why don’t you join us for garbage pickups!?”
“Sure I can for half an hour! Let me quickly look for a book.”
ということで彼のお目当ての本を一緒に探し
（日本の観光ガイドブックみたいな本。翻訳してあるからけっこうな値段）
So we searched for the book he wanted.
(Like a tourist guide, just a little pricey)
レジへ。
彼の名は、コンというらしい。
He then went to the till.
At this point we grasp that his name is Cong.
しかし、レジでもたつくコン。
どうやらドル札しかもってなかったらしい。
oh！ジーザス！！
Cong struggled at the till as he only had dollars on him!!
Oh! Jesus!!
機転を利かした太田くんが
自らドルを円に両替し、なんとか本購入！
（太田銀行さすが！）
Ohta using his quick thinking exchanges the Dollars into Yen, Cong then finally has managed to buy the book!
(Well done Bank of Ohta!)
本を買ってほくほくしたコンと一緒にジュンク堂を後に。
そのころには新たなごみひろい参加者も加わり、いよいよごみひろいスタート。
20時に、堺にある家に帰らないといけないコンを
御堂筋線まで案内しながらごみひろいしました。
Together with happy Cong, who has got the book we wanted we left Junkudo to start the main event of the evening. By this time we were joined by more participants, totally ready to start.
We carried out our garbage pickups as on the rout for Cong to catch Midosuji line. (He needed to be home in Sakai by 8:00pm)
夏休みに日本に観光にきていたコン。
最近は鳥取砂丘にいったりと日本を満喫している様子。
Cong was in Japan on his summer holiday and seems to enjoy his time going around to the desert in Tottori and more.
「アンマリゴミオチテナクテキレイダネ！
キットキミタチノヨウナヒトガイルカラダヨ！(‘∀`)（英語）」
と言ってくれていました。
“The town is kept pretty clean! I think it is because of people like you!(‘∀`)”
Cong complemented.
しかしやっぱり北新地と第一ビル・第二ビルの間の大通りは
いっぱいゴミがありますね、あいかわらず。。。。
Anyhow I still think there are a lot of rubbish in Kitachinchi and on the main road between Dai-ichi building and Dai-ni building.
コンとのコミュニケーションに夢中になって
ごみひろいはすぐに終わりました。
まぁこんな回もありでしょう。
常連の参加者・山ちゃんも英語を使ってコンにたくさん話していました。
The time past ever so fast as we all spoke to Cong, excited.
Our regular participant Yamachan spoke to Cong a lot too using English.
コンの英語はすごく流暢できれい。
わかりやすい単語をつかって話してくれているので
コンがなにを言っているかはほとんど理解できたのですが
こちらが伝えたいことを英語にして話すのはほんとになかなかむずかしいですね。
Cong’s English was very clear and he was using easy words for us to understand but it was not easy for us to talk to him in English embarrassingly.
名刺を交換したり
フェイスブックアカウントを交換したりしました。
We’ve exchanged our business cards and add friended on facebook.
「ジカイハ、トモダチヲツレテサンカスルヨ！(‘∀`)（英語）」
といってくれました。
大阪駅付近で記念写真をとってお別れ。
“I’ll join again with my friends next time!(‘∀`)” Cong said and we parted after taking a group photo near Osaka station.
その後、残りのメンバーでごみひろいの続きをしました。
ということで、すごくステキな出会いがあった楽しいごみひろいでした！
やっぱなんでもかんでも人には話しかけてみるもんです(‘∀`)

The rest of team continued to pickup garbages.
It was a wonderful evening and really reminded me not to be afraid to talk to people.
